I’m not much of a sports fan, but I’m told there’s some big event taking place in a couple weeks. And I’m told that one of the best things about going to a football party is enjoying tasty snacks. So I’ll be making snacks.
Early Christmas morning, we’ll be lured out of bed with the promise of Santa’s loot and the aroma of egg bake wafting from the slow cooker. Well, we made it. The holiday season has begun again. And somehow, my pants are already feeling the pinch. This is a problem. I’ve heard that the key to weight loss is eating less. OK, I’ll do that … starting in January.
Thanksgiving is all about family and food – two of my favorite things! So today – we have Cheesy Bacon Potatoes Au Gratin – a festival of golden, cheesy, bacony deliciousness! They are easy to make, you can prep them a day or two ahead and bake them later, and they would make any Thanksgiving dinner proud!
Sick of turkey yet? Probably not, but you know you will be soon. There will be leftovers. So it’s best to plan ahead for them now, since there usually isn’t enough leftover bread to make it all into sandwiches.

I love meals that come together quickly. So loaded potatoes are a go-to. No fancy ingredients, no planning ahead, no huge pile of dishes after. Use a big enough potato and it’s a meal; use a smaller potato and it’s a perfect side dish!
I am a person who loves tomatoes. LOVES tomatoes. Unfortunately, I am married to a person who hates tomatoes and I understand that mine is not the only house divided over tomatoes. But you know what everyone loves? BACON! So, as a compromise, I serve Bacon Bacon BLTs.
It’s been a buggy summer here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes…the mosquitos have sharpened their stingers, the wood ticks are thriving and I’ve swatted more flies than seems reasonable for one living in the age of the screen door. So what to do when your bugged by bugs? Turn that frown upside down and make Ladybug BLTs!
