With an Independence Day celebration on the horizon, I decided to get cute and crafty. This is not something I do often…so I have to bolster myself for the challenge, preferably with a nice libation. So this project worked out well for me, as it became the container for a very refreshing Watermelon Cooler!

I absolutely love the Blue Ribbon BlueberryTM Bar Mix. Last year when I heard they were going to discontinue the mix I went searching for it and bought up every box I could find. You can imagine how delighted I was when they brought this favorite back. Seriously, who can resist blueberries?
I have a love/hate relationship with kabobs. On the one hand, I love the way they look and the way they taste. Yum! On the other…they are a pain to make. Sigh. What to do?! Well…I’ve figured it out…ditch those dang skewers!!
Salad, salad, salad, all summer long I hear…let’s pair that with a salad. My family got real tired of me chopping up lettuce, putting it in a bowl and calling it a salad, so it was time for me to try something new.
I mostly grew up before broccoli was invented. Oh, we ate pounds and pounds of raw celery and carrots, but broccoli? Almost never. It’s grilling season and coleslaw is a wonderful partner for all things barbecued, and I have seen lots of broccoli slaw recipes lately. So I combined some of my favorite ideas and came up with a delicious and fruity Vidalia Onion Broccoli Slaw.
Hamburgers are so versatile and easy, and my family loves to make them all summer. We love to mix it up and experiment with different seasonings and flavors to ensure that each of our ‘burger nights’ offers up a new combination of deliciousness.
Tastefully Simple consultants and HQ team members are gearing up for the biggest party of the summer! We are heading off to Columbus, Ohio for Party Palooza 2012. One consultant was so inspired, in fact, that she decided to come up with a tasty treat in celebration of the event being in her home state. Consultant Stacey Maholm of Columbus, Ohio, and her mother, created a new recipe showcasing Ohio and Party Palooza’s new destination. Stacey used a bit of imagination, a fabulous Tastefully Simple product and the excitement of Party Palooza to come up with a tempting treat that resembles a buckeye. I was so impressed by Stacey’s ambition and creativity regarding this recipe in celebration of Party Palooza that I decided to make her recipe myself!
Once in a while I need to take a moment just to relax and enjoy the simple things in life. On warm summer days my husband and I love to be near the water. It is so peaceful and relaxing, and my favorite thing to do is sit in the cool breeze with a Bloody Mary in hand.
Pa-tay-to, Pa-tah-to, Batato or spud…whatever you call ‘em, I’ll eat ‘em! I grew up in a very “meat and potatoes” family and my mom has many and varied recipes for them, including fried mashed potatoes – a favorite “leftovers” meal for us. Since our line of Returning Favorites goes on sale today (yay!!), I thought it would be fun to pair a Returning Favorite with a family favorite – the humble potato – and I created…drum roll please…Alfredo Potatoes!Read More»
